The Battle of Los Angeles - Lakers/Clippers - NBA Opening Night

Although I am very aware that the Lakers are not going to be very good this season (or for years to come, possibly), I didn't let that dampen my spirits on opening night here in LA. I couldn't pass up a chance to see the boys in purple and gold battle with their across-the-hall rivals the Clippers. With all of the new additions to an already stellar lineup, the Clippers have been picked by many analysts to win the Western Conference. With Kobe Bryant still out with his Achilles injury and the departure of Dwight Howard, there wasn't much to get excited about in this matchup of LA teams. But this is Hollywood...where anything can happen!! With the Clippers playing the role of Goliath, the undersized Lakers used 76 points from their bench players (including 41 of those in the 4th quarter) to slay the Clippers 116-103. It was an unexpected surprise and made for a great first game of the season!!

Game 3 NLDS - Braves vs. Dodgers - Chavez Ravine - 10.6.13

Well, we were lucky to land tickets to the first home game of the NLDS for the Dodgers and it did not disappoint!! The Dodgers defeated the Braves 13-6 in front of a raucous crowd of 53,000+. We had a blast watching the Dodgers get a step closer to their ultimate goal of a World Series. The Dodgers eliminated the Braves the next night to advance to the NLCS. Fun times here for baseball fans in Los Angeles!! Go Blue!!

SF Giants vs LA Dodgers - 9.15.13 - Chavez Ravine

Once we arrived in LA, we didn't waste any time getting back to what we do best: Have Fun!! We took in a Dodger game vs their hated rival the SF Giants. Although, the Dodgers lost, the playoffs are coming, and we are planning on being there when it matters most!!

Giants vs Cowboys - Opening Night - 9.8.13 - Arlington, TX

On our way to California, we took a few days to stop in Texas and visit with friends and family. My brother surprised us with tickets to the Giants/Cowboys game. This was my first time seeing a Cowboys game in the new stadium and these amazing seats made it even more memorable. It was a very exciting game and thankfully the Cowboys got the victory!!

Westward Ho!

On September 5, Laura and I said goodbye to the East coast. Much like Lewis & Clark, we decided that it was time to see what the other half of our great country, has to offer. West Hollywood...LaLa Land...is our next destination. And as much as I hate leaving this part of the country, I know it is time. We wouldn't be doing ourselves justice if we didn't use this journey to try and see all of America. So away...we...go!!
